The training in Bangalore is being organised in Housekeeping and Restaurant Management Services. The programme is being organised for youth in the age group of 18 to 30 years who have dropped out of school, unemployed or are looking for a vocational skill to enhance their livelihood options. BREADS, the implementing partner, has set a target of training 125 youth in batches. Each batch will be trained for a period of 3 months, with practical inputs from the Taj Group. Apart from this, the Taj Group through one of its hotels in Bangalore has also organised orientation training for the trainers to improve the efficiency of the class room delivery of the curriculum. Taj Group has also designed the detailed curriculum including the class room session plan and the practical session plan along with BREADS. The centre has been set up with the required infrastructure for mock restaurant and also housekeeping practical sessions. There are 30 students currently enrolled in the courses. All trainees have been provided with uniforms. On March 6, 2010, a parent teachers` meeting was organised. The objective of the meeting was to sensitise parents on the hospitality sector, discuss the progress of their children and also to involve the parents and motivate them to send their children regularly for the classes. The parents expressed their appreciation and support. About 25 young people have already applied for the next batch. The second batch sessions are being planned and scheduled for the second week of March 2010.
