With the Life Skills Training of Trainers Workshop that was held at Bangalore from December 4-6, 2008 BREADS has now trained 87 trainers to implement these programmes across the country. With all Don Bosco Technical institutions in the country coming together under one umbrella named - Don Bosco Tech India, there has been more focus on the concept of ``Don Bosco Plus``. ``Don Bosco Plus`` looks into equipping young people with more than technical education. It is a new package of technical education that offers young people with basic computers, spoken English and Life skills with any trade they choose to learn in our institutions. At BREADS, we have trained more than 50 staff from our technical institutes through Life Skills Training of Trainers Workshops. Through these workshops, we invite our staff to be animators who can along with imparting technical trades have a big role in moulding the lives of the young people they train. While the shift in role is challenging, it calls us to look at the concept of vocational and technical training as a formation period for young people. We do hope to train more of our trainers in working towards building future together.
