Don Bosco Church Celebrates Mahila Divas with 3,000 Faithful
Don Bosco Church, Oodlabari, was filled with devotion and festivity as more than 3,000 faithful gathered to mark Mahila Divas in honour of St. Monica, patroness of mothers. The celebration drew over 2,000 women from 14 parish sub-centres, joined by nearly 1,000 men, youth, and children, turning the occasion into an actual family festival of prayer and fellowship.
The day began with the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Fr. John Selvan. Preacher Fr. Aju Kurian inspired the congregation with reflections on St. Monica’s steadfast faith and the vital role of mothers in shaping Christian families.
Adding vibrancy to the event, Sr. Kiran led a cultural program and animation session that blended prayer, song, and shared experiences, deepening the spirit of unity and joy. The entire celebration was coordinated under the guidance of Fr. Antony Vayalil, ensuring a smooth flow of liturgy and activities.
Mahila Divas 2025 emerged as both a tribute to St. Monica and a powerful affirmation of the strength of women in the life of the Church.
