Father Ivo Coelho visits Salesian Panjim Pre-novitiate

The General Councillor, Formation, Father Ivo Coelho, visited the pre-novitiate of the Salesian Province of Panjim (INP) at Loutolim, Goa, with Vice Provincial of Panjim, Father Banzelao Teixeira and Vice Provincial Mumbai, Father Ashley Miranda on February 23, 2023.

The visit was to assess the formation programme, interact with the formation staff and young seminarians, and support where necessary. The General Councillor was impressed with the overall atmosphere at the Formation House. The seminarians appeared to be happy and measuring up to the objectives of the formative phase, as understood from the interactive session with the pre-novices.

Father Coelho spoke, specifically, on a personal relationship with God through personal prayer, frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament and understanding the plan of God in each one’s life. He urged the pre-novices to learn to know Don Bosco better and examine if they have a love for poor youngsters just like Don Bosco. He emphasized the importance of spiritual direction and understanding the Salesian vocation, specifically, the identity of the coadjutor brother and the Salesian priest.
