Father David Mondol SDB, the editor of the work, initiated the project in 2011 when he came across the books of Father Larrea. With the encouragement and support of the Provincial, and the financial help received from the province Fr. Mondol as the coordinator of the commission for Catechetics and evangelization embarked single handed on the project. The Provincial released the book and gave the first copy to Mr. Ranjit Biswas, the translator of the books. Appreciating the work the Provincial said, ``I always had a great desire to get this work done and I am really grateful to Father Mondol for taking the initiative and getting this project completed. This will be very useful for our catechetical work. Hope somebody will take up the translation in Santali and Nepali.`` Mr. Biswas, the 79-year-old retired language teacher from Don Bosco Park Circus said, ``I always wanted to do some work for the Church. Translating these books on the Word of God was a deep spiritual experience for me.`` Addressing the parish priests he said, ``You should give good training to those who read in the church so that they may read well. Often we do not understand what they read``. Earlier Mr. Biswas translated the life of Mamma Margret into Bengali. The present translation is the 10th book credited to Mr. Biswas. ``All my works are related to Church matters,`` said Mr. Biswas who did the entire translation of the three volumes without taking any remuneration. He has been giving free service to the Church in the work of translation since his retirement in 1999. The books are available at the Salesian Provincial house, Kolkata and at Don Bosco Youth centre, Krishnagar.
