Don Bosco Relic Visits the Diocese of Kottapuram

The large crowds that filled the church and the campus with great faith and devotion was unexpected. The church named after St. John Bosco did well to present the patron saint to the people in a beautifully organised liturgy and event during the day.

The relic of Don Bosco was proudly received by the diocese of Kottappuram at Don Bosco Church, North Paravur on 30 September. The casket was taken in procession to the church premises and officially welcomed by the vicar general of the diocese who also presided over the Holy Eucharist. Priests of the diocese and thousands of faithful visited Don Bosco with much devotion. Continuous explanation of the event with details on the Relic, Devotion to Sacred Relics in the Church etc. brought home to the devotees its exact content as well as the person of Don Bosco. The relic was laid out for veneration while adoration of the Holy Eucharist was on. People spent prayerful moments in the church with the relic. The well organised event found a gathering beyond anyone`s expectation.
