Fr. Cletus Sebastian SDB, Executive Director of the host institute, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its role in strengthening the bonds among the youth of the Salesian provinces. "SYM - LAF 2024 has been a remarkable opportunity for our young people to come together, share their experiences, and grow in their faith. It is heartening to see such engagement from all corners of North East India," he said.

The festival's highlight was the Holy Mass celebrated on September 6 by Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati. Several distinguished Salesian leaders, including Fr. Patrick Lepcha SDB, Secretary of Don Bosco Youth Animation for South Asia (DBYA-SA), Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial of Guwahati, Fr. Cletus Sebastian SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati, Fr. Ritonbor Kharkongor SDB, Young Ministry Delegate of Shillong; and Fr. Theotimus SDB, Youth Ministry Delegate of Dimapur, graced the occasion.

Following the Holy Mass, the participants engaged in animated sessions led by the attending Salesian priests and representatives recently participating in the SYMSYNOD in Turin. These sessions provided insights into the broader Salesian Youth Movement and fostered youth engagement and ministry discussions.

The diverse representation of participants underscored the unity and shared mission of the Salesian Youth Movement across the North East. Delegates from all seven states of North East India contributed to a rich exchange of ideas and experiences, reflecting the dynamic spirit of the Salesian community in the region.
