The Ten-Day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) - 77, held from August 18 to August 28, at Don Bosco College, Golaghat, brought together 400 NCC cadets and 200 college students from various educational institutions across Golaghat, Jorhat, and other districts of Assam. Don Bosco College  hosted the NCC camp for the first time, and participants from diverse backgrounds joined in enhancing their skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced trainers and officers.

The 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC under Jorhat Group organized the camp in collaboration with Don Bosco College. On the opening day, the Guard of Honour was presented by the NCC cadets to the Group Commander of Jorhat Group, Brig. Ritesh Bhal. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss, Principal of Don Bosco College, with staff, the NCC Units, cadets, and Salesians.

The camp cadets were engaged in various NCC-related activities, including drill, firing, map reading, and martial arts. To keep the cadets energized and active, games and other events were organized, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and physical fitness. A special highlight was the hands-on display of arms and ammunition by the 142 CRPF Battalion of Golaghat, which provided the cadets and college students with practical experience in the use of weapons in emergency situations.

The camp also featured insightful guest lectures, including a session by Police Superintendent Ms. Mousumi Chakroborty of Golaghat. She addressed crimes against women and cybercrimes in the digital age, emphasized the importance of self-protection, and discussed measures taken to combat crimes related to women.

In addition, Mr. Shifu Nekibur Rahman from the International Shaolin and Kickboxing Association conducted a demonstration on martial arts, highlighting how cadets can become self-reliant in self-defense and maintain physical strength. The cadets also received training in firefighting, mushroom farming, commercial plantation, tree plantation, and poultry farming. Experts from the Don Bosco Tech Society of Golaghat Unit and doctors from Civil Hospital conducted guest lectures on livelihood and income-generating activities and first aid.

The camp concluded with a grand cultural program, a solemn social meal-sharing event, networking opportunities and a valedictory function. The event also included a prize distribution ceremony, where cadets were not just recognized, but celebrated for their outstanding performances. Notably, U/O Ankiel Tirkey from Don Bosco College, Golaghat, received the first prize in drill commanding and firing, a moment of pride for the entire institution.

Lt. Col. A. Jaynata of 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss, Principal of Don Bosco College, and the college management for their invaluable support and meticulous arrangements, which contributed to the camp's grand success. In his address to the 600 young participants, staff, and trainers, Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss inspired them to commit to the betterment of society and emphasized the importance of becoming good citizens. He also commended CTO Arpita Dowarah of NCC Girls, CTO John Kisku of NCC Boys, and all the NCC cadets of Don Bosco College for their dedication and hard work under the leadership of Lt. Col. A. Jaynata.
