Rector Major Cardinal Angel Fernandez meets new Provincials from India

The Rector Major Card. Angel Fernandez Artime had a special meeting with the two new Provincials, Father John Zosiama, Shillong Provincial and Father Sebastian Kuricheal, Gauhati Provincial, in Sacro Cuore, Rome, together with Father Sunil Barla, the new Rector of Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong, on 17th July.

The Rector Major discussed with the new Provincials some of the concerns of the theological formation of future Salesian priests such as the spiritual accompaniment of each candidate, Salesian formation in the theologate, the need for a systematic preparation of good formators and professors, and other important issues for the governance and animation of the provinces. Father Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation and Father Biju Michael, Regional Councillor for South Asia were also present.

Father John Zosiama and Father Sebastian Kuricheal also met the General Councillors and in-charge of different sectors of the Congregation in the Generalate. It was an opportunity for them in a special way to meet the Rector Major, to congratulate and thank him on behalf of their confreres before he lays down his office on 16th August.
