At a colourful function of felictitions and speeches from the members of the 84 year old Nepali language and literature promoting association, the Principal of Salesian College, Fr. George Thadathil SDB, was acknowledged and awarded, along with five others, for his work as an educationist and his efforts especially towards promotion of the Nepali language, culture and arts, through seminars, publication of books and presentation of papers at the national and international seminars. The works of Fr. George Thadathil mentioned in the citation include: ``Cultural Identity in Nepali Language and Literature`` (2005); ``Subaltern Perspectives: Philosophizing in Context`` (2005); Communities and Identity Consciousness: South Indian Trajectories (2004); and ``Vision From the Margin`` (2007). Fr. George Thadathil has been attached to Salesian College Sonada from 1992 onwards, and has ministered there in different capacities such as Regional Youth Coordinator, Lecturer, Member of Diocesan Commission for Inter religious Dialogue and Principal of the College.
