The National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteers of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikadavu, Kerala, built and handed over `Snehaveedu` (the house of love) to the most deserving family in the neighbourhood. The recipient of the house is a mother with two young children.

The heavy rainfall and the consequent floods have devastated the state of Kerala, claiming the lives of many and displacing thousands since last week. Rescue efforts are in full swing with the help of local administrators everywhere. The rainfall has partially subsided in central Kerala, but the threat of landslides and severe waterlogging across multiple districts persists. Kerala has seen a series of natural disasters in the past four years, causing loss of lives and property. The residents of the Kottayam district have witnessed a tragedy of such magnitude for the first time.

Accomplishing the words of Vern Gambetta, a conditioning coach, who said, `Create an environment where champions are inevitable`, The HCL Foundation has gifted a Hi-Tech Multi-purpose Sports Bus to Don Bosco Anbu Illam Social Service Society. The supporting act of HCL will reach the talents in the slum communities of Chennai and encourage and motivate the marginalized and underprivileged young minds in sports.

The unconditional and daring community intervention programme by Don Bosco Anbu Illam (DBAI) in the wake of the debilitating pandemic situation, who have partnered with Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), has brought laurel to the organization. The Greater Chennai Corporation has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for its support in addressing health emergencies.

The DB Egmore GCC COVID Care Centre is a joint initiative of Don Bosco School Egmore, DB Past Pupil doctors, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), DBPPA Egmore, and various past pupil batches of DB Egmore. With collaboration from various sectors, the team set up a 104-bed (with oxygen concentrators) COVID Care Centre at Don Bosco School, Egmore, to supplement the ever-increasing demand for oxygen beds in the city.

A day before International Nurses Day, on Tuesday, May 11, Soumya Santhosh, a home nurse hailing from Kerala, was killed in a mortar shell attack in Israel. The statistics released by the Trained Nurses Association of India indicates that 90 nurses have lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19 across India. The loss could be much more on a global count. We bow our heads before your selfless, restless, dedicated service rendered for humanity, more so in this war against the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is fitting to honour and thank the `Angels on earth` on May 12, International Nurses Day.

Fr Anil D`sa, a Salesian of the Province of Bangalore and the Director of ICYM (Indian Catholic Youth Movement) Bangalore, brought together young volunteers in collaboration with the Sneha Charitable Trust (Camellian Fathers) to be Covid Warriors in hospitals in Bangalore city. Fifty volunteers, including religious brothers and sisters, are working in different batches in the hospitals.

With an unprecedented spike in corona cases in Bangalore, `Food to Your Doorstep` an initiative by Don Bosco BREADS (Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society) and four other non-profit organizations (The Good Quest Foundation, Project Vision, AIFO and ECHO), reaches out to Covid-infected patients under quarantine by serving vegetarian food.

The Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family take place online from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 January. To date, more than 5,000 registrations have already been made among the 12 regional-linguistic coordination centers.

In view of the International Day of Youth, on 12 August 2020, from 6pm-9pm, the Salesian Provinces of Chennai [INM] and Tiruchy [INT] organized an online listening forum, to listen to 23 young people from different walks of life in the State of Tamil Nadu. The young people voiced out in 06 minutes each, their varied experiences, during the pandemic months, of actively demonstrating love for God, love for neighbour and love for nature

Mumbai Salesians` Dominic Savio Andheri-Mumbai Alumni [Past Pupils], scored a century [100 days] of relentless COVID-19 Food Relief, reaching out to 01 million at 65 locations in Mumbai, as part of the `Feed My Mumbai` campaign. With the intention to ensure that no one sleeps hungry, freshly cooked nutritious meals to the disadvantaged needy were distributed by these past-pupils, volunteers and Salesians, stepping out of their homes bravely for a noble cause. The significant milestone was reached on 12 July 2020, by 300 PPDS (Past Pupils of St Dominic Savio)Corona Warriors.

The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Father �ngel Fern�ndez Artime,released an official statement on 05 June 2020, naming the new Delegates of the Rector Major for the groups that are spiritually mentored by the Sons of Don Bosco. The newly appointed Delegates are: Father Joan Llu�s Play�, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat of the Salesian Family;Ecclesiastical Assistant of the VDB (Volunteers of Don Bosco) and CDB (Volunteers with Don Bosco) Bro. Duc (Dominic) Nam Nguyen, Vietnamese Salesian Brother, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Association of the Salesian Cooperators and the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Past Pupils of Don Bosco. Father Alejandro Guevara, Delegate of the Rector Major as Spiritual Animator of the Association of Mary Help of Christians [ADMA]. Father Pier Luigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints, will also be part of the team of the Secretariat.

On 05 June 2020, 46th World Environment Day, Don Bosco Green Alliance, an international collective of young people from the Salesian Family institutions, who contribute to global environmental action, thought and policy, launched a new campaign `Rethink, Reconnect, Renew`. This campaign will be run throughout the ongoing Laudato S�` Year. Father Savio Silveira-Convener Don Bosco Green Alliance addressed a letter on the launch of the new campaign to the Alliance Members.
