The Kolkata Salesians organised a three-day international youth fest at Don Bosco School Siliguri from 26 to 28 January, on the theme, ‘Dream that makes you Dream’. Some 700 plus young people from 24 Salesian parishes of Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Nepal participated.

The Salesian Province of Kolkata is all set to begin the three years of the centenary celebrations, with the opening ceremony here under the Mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Bandel Basilica on 27 May 2023.

Most Reverend Andrew R. Marak, Bishop of Tura blessed and inaugurated the Orestes Marengo Memorial Chapel at Bosco Mount, Rongkhon Parish, Tura, Meghalaya.

The best way to grow as wise and physically strong is to listen to God and the counsel of wise and wounded healers, said Most Rev. Lawrence Pius, Bishop of Dharmapuri, at the release of the book, Wise and Strong, written by Father John Alexander SDB. The Department of Life Education, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, India, organized the event on October 29, 2021.

As the Church in India celebrated the National Youth Sunday on August 8, new members were inducted into the youth group of Don Bosco Church Lingarajapuram, Bangalore. Forty-three youngsters took membership in the youth group of the parish.

The Don Bosco Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia [SPCSA] Assembly is currently in progress from 01 to 03 September 2020 via the virtual medium. Convoked under the leadership of the SPCSA President Father Biju Michael, South Asia Regional Councillor, 40 Salesians are participating in this virtual assembly including Province Delegates and South Asia Sector and Dimenison Coordinators, apart from the Provincials of the South Asia region.

Father Anthony Mahimai Dass of the Salesian Province of Bangalore [INK], successfully defended his doctoral research thesis titled ``Jesuit Letters and Mysore History: Annual Letters and Relations of Mysore Mission as Source for the Secular History of Mysore Kingdom from AD 1648 till 1704`` at the Gregorian University, Rome, on 06 July 2020. The thesis was guided by Dr Vitor D�lio Jacinto de Mendon�a, SJ.

A 30-minute film ``Zatti, our Brother`` on the Salesian lay coadjutor nurse Blessed Artemide Zatti [1880-1951], is to be released on Thursday 11 June at 20:00 hrs, Argentine time, on the YouTube channel of the Argentine Salesian Bulletin. The original language is Spanish, with English, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and French subtitles. This is the 1st Salesian cinematographic narrative work produced in Argentina, by the Argentinian Salesian Bulletin with the support of the 02 Salesian Provinces in Argentina, the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid-Spain, and the Salesians of Don Bosco worldwide.

Pope Francis on 06 June accepted the resignation of Salesian Bishop Jerome Dhas Varuvel of Kuzhithurai Diocese in Tamil Nadu. A press release issued by the Vatican noted, ``The Holy Father Pope Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai, India, presented by Bishop Jerome Dhas Varuvel.`` A Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) press release stated,``the Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Antony Pappusamy of Madurai as Apostolic Administrator of Kuzhithurai.`` Bishop Varuvel had submitted his resignation due to reasons of heath, prior to the mandatory retirement age.

The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Father �ngel Fern�ndez Artime,released an official statement on 05 June 2020, naming the new Delegates of the Rector Major for the groups that are spiritually mentored by the Sons of Don Bosco. The newly appointed Delegates are: Father Joan Llu�s Play�, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat of the Salesian Family;Ecclesiastical Assistant of the VDB (Volunteers of Don Bosco) and CDB (Volunteers with Don Bosco) Bro. Duc (Dominic) Nam Nguyen, Vietnamese Salesian Brother, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Association of the Salesian Cooperators and the Delegate of the Rector Major for the Past Pupils of Don Bosco. Father Alejandro Guevara, Delegate of the Rector Major as Spiritual Animator of the Association of Mary Help of Christians [ADMA]. Father Pier Luigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints, will also be part of the team of the Secretariat.

The Salesian Province of St. Francis Xavier Bombay [INB] mourns with great sadness the demise of Father Byron Anthony D`Silva, aged 77, on 27 May 2020 at 14:15hrs, at the Holy Spirit Hospital Andheri-Mumbai. He was a Salesian of Don Bosco for 56 years. The funeral service will be a private ceremony, due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions protocol. Born at Dramapur-Goa on 15 February 1943, Father D`Silva did his novitiate and made his 1st Religious Profession at Yercaud on 24 May 1964. He was ordained priest on 16 December 1972 at Panjim.

The month of May dedicated to Mary Help of Christians is a month of prayer, rosary and novena to Mother Mary. The solemn feast of Mary Help Of Christians and the lead up to the feast day, is unfotunately to be celebrated within the confines of our homes, due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Father Ángel Fernández Artime, the Rector Major invites the Salesians, the members of the Salesian Family, and the young people to renew their trusting faith in Mary Help of Christians, during the Corona Virus pandemic, following the example of Don Bosco in similar circumstances. Father Artime proposes an extraordinary novena from 15-23 March concluding with the monthly commemoration of Mary Help of Christians on 24 March, with a prayer of entrustment.
