The DB Egmore GCC COVID Care Centre is a joint initiative of Don Bosco School Egmore, DB Past Pupil doctors, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), DBPPA Egmore, and various past pupil batches of DB Egmore. With collaboration from various sectors, the team set up a 104-bed (with oxygen concentrators) COVID Care Centre at Don Bosco School, Egmore, to supplement the ever-increasing demand for oxygen beds in the city.

Kerela, Day Two - Coming together and sharing is the best thing to happen, said the Rector Major, as he began the second day of visit in the province of Bangalore with the Holy Eucharist at Don Bosco Aluva. The Salesian Family members of Kerala region participated in the Holy Eucharist concelebrated by Father Maria Arokiam, the Regional, Father Joyce, the Provincial, Father Tom Uzhunnalil, Father Horacio Lopez, the secretary of the RM and other Salesian priests. The RM exhorted everyone to be transparent like Jesus. In an exclusive audience with the family members of Father Tom Uzhunnalil, the Rector Major thanked them for their prayerful support and concern during the agonizing days of Fr Tom with his abductors.

Bosco Plus Finishing School at Don Bosco Technical Institute Hassan came to a close on Friday 14th October. 18 students received certificates on completion of this communicative English, life skills, and computer skills training programme.

The Don Bosco Finishing School(residential),organized by BREADS in its campus came to its conclusion on 10th October,2009. The programme was inaugurated on 17th August with 32 participants from both Karnataka and Kerala. The biggest achievement of the programme is that all the participants interested in working at Bangalore were offered job placement with various companies in Bangalore.
The `Finishing School` - 2009 was launched on August 17, 2009 at BREADS. With 32 students enrolled from 4 project locations, the second batch was inaugurated by Fr. Valarkote Mathew, the Rector of the Provincial House and the Province secretary.

A demonstration of a CNC Training Machine was arranged by Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil at BREADS office on 17th July, 2009. The machine is exclusively designed for providing cost effective training for students

The BREADS Team visited the Corporate Office of Nettur Technical Training Foundation on July 13, 2009 to work on possibilities to offer quality training towards transforming the lives of the young in collaboration.

On February 20, 2009 about 420 girls from St. Theresa`s School and St. Joseph`s School at KGF received certificates for the Life Skills Programme completed in their schools. This was a project of BREADS to prepare the young people for Employability.

A Life Skills Training of Trainers workshop was held between December 4-6, 2008. With this programme, about 87 trainers have been trained by BREADS so far to implement this programme among young people.
