A Salesian Organises State Level Consultation on Children in Kerala

A State Level Consultation on Missing Children and Track Child System was organized by Kerala State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights in the State Capital of Kerala, Trivandrum, on 22 May 2014. Fr. Philip Parakatt SDB, Member of Kerala State Child Rights Commission, was the key Organizer of the Consultation. Fr. Philip belongs to the Salesian Province of Bangalore. He was involved in the ministry towards young at risk for the past two decades. The forum consisted of ministers, bureaucrats, Police Officers and activists in the field.
The consultation was inaugurated by Dr. MK Muneer (Honourable Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice, Govt. of Kerala), in the presence of Smt. Sreelekha IPS (Additional Director General of Police), the Commission Members, the Chairpersons of CWC, JJB Members, District Social Justice Officers, SP SCRB, Deputy SPs of 19 Police Districts, CHILDLINE Coordinators and National and State representatives of National Informatic Centre. Among the topics the Consultation looked into were issues such as Missing Children, Strategy for Prevention, Complaint Registration, Tracing use of Tracking Child Software, Data Entry, Monitoring, Inter-sectoral Linkages, Restoration, and Follow up.
