Don Bosco International Film Festival Brings in over 100 Films in Kochi

The fifth Edition of DBIFF (Don Bosco International Film Festival) organised by Don Bosco Image, Kochi, in collaboration with ishare programme will begin on 22 November and conclude on 23 November with the award ceremony. DBIFF brings together cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in short films across the country. Over 100 short films will be screened in Full HD quality on the festival days. The contestants are basically children and youth from all over India.
DBIFF entering into the fifth edition has become one of the major short film festivals in Kerala with efficient organization and well outlined programmes giving visibility to all the participating films on the festival days and also on the well designed website www.dbiff.in. The fifth edition of DBIFF has two categories of films in competition: the general category and films made by children. The cash award for each category is Rs. 15,000 for the best film, Rs.12,000 for the second best film and Rs.10,000 for the third best film and online voting for movies made by children carries Rs.10,000. Eminent filmmakers like Mohan, Lijo Pelllissery, Siddarth Siva and Rajesh Nair judge the movies in the competitions. The concluding day will be graced with the presence of Sri Sabu Cheriyan (Chairman KSFDC), Lijin Jose (Film Director) and the members of the Jury. During the two-day festival the delegates will have opportunity to interact with young filmmakers where they will gain first hand insight into the world of narrative short films through panel discussions, pitches, networking and screening with filmmakers and industry experts. DBIFF is the brainchild of Fr.Jiji Kalavanal sdb, director of Don Bosco Image, Kochi.
