A book titled `Cyber Psychology and Youth - A Socio Psychological Investigation` authored by Dr C.P. Varghese SDB, of the province of Bangalore, was released on 28 July. It is the result of the doctoral research study done by the author, under the Bangalore University. The study investigates into the Internet usage habits of modern young people.
The book was released during the Karnataka State Don Bosco Faith Fest held at Auxilium School Campus, Avalahalli, Bangalore. It was released by Msgr. S. Jayanathan, Vicar General, Archdiocese of Bangalore, who was the chief celebrant at the concluding Mass of the youth convention. It was most fitting, he said, that a book of this sort has been brought out and released at such a huge gathering of youth. The study is a scientific investigation into the correlation between the Internet usage habits of modern young people and the various psycho-social developmental factors underlying the patterns being demonstrated in these habits. The universe of the study is the undergraduate students from eight colleges of Bangalore City totalling 240 samples.
