The second batch of BASE project was formally inaugurated at Don Bosco Chullikkara at 2.30 pm on July 22, 2011. The function was presided over by Mr Soujith Antony the State Coordinator of DB Tech. In his presidential address he gave a detailed explanation of the MoRD project run by Don Bosco Tech to uplift the poor and in skilling young people of India. Rev. Fr. Jose Tharapputhottiyil, Vicar of Chullikkara Church inaugurated the meeting by lightening the lamp. On his inaugural address he emphasized on the need of hard work in one`s life to gain the ultimate success. He spoke to the trainees that no one in this world is worthy to live without earning anything by one`s own hand. He quoted the words of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi saying, they shall not eat who do not work. The main domains in chullikkara center for training are • Sales & Marketing • ISMO • Hotel Management (Housekeeping) There are five faculties available for the training programme. There is a computer lab set up for the trainees to learn computer basics. There are 90 trainees who joined in the second batch of three month training course to get a job within this duration. Fr. Saji Elampasseril, administrator of DonBosco Chullikkara welcomed the gathering and spoke how the youth are animated in Don Bosco institutions. MORD staff Mrs. Stybi Thomas delivered the vote of thanks. Thus the audience was entertained by the cultural programmes performed by the trainees. The people gathered for the function was followed by refreshments for all.
