WISE AND STRONG; A New Book for Parents and Educators Released

The best way to grow as wise and physically strong is to listen to God and the counsel of wise and wounded healers, said Most Rev. Lawrence Pius, Bishop of Dharmapuri, at the release of the book, Wise and Strong, written by Father John Alexander SDB. The Department of Life Education, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, India, organized the event on October 29, 2021.

As the world is going through a deep crisis in the wake of the pandemic, the book offers many a soul-nourishing insight based on the Bible, but interpreted in new and refreshing ways, said Bishop Lawrence. Professor Arul Doss, Professor Mary Jenif, Sr. Christina FMA and Father John Rosario SDB shared their reflections at a function with 200 scholars, priests and sisters. The Principal Dr Maria Antonyraj SDB, Additional principal Dr Maria Arokiaraj SDB and Controller of Exams Dr Praveen Peter SDB welcomed and offered their reviews. The book is a valuable resource for parents, teachers and leaders, and is also a good source for the young people in colleges and universities, said the reviewers. Usually, we think of King Solomon as the wisest person. But I had the person of Jesus in my mind as I was writing this book. I hope that every reader will encounter Him, said the author in his vote of thanks. The book published by Pauline publications, Mumbai, is available in all the book stores across India and on Amazon. in The Sacred Heart College also conferred an award of excellence to Father Ernest Rosario SDB for his outstanding short film Transgender on the struggles and achievements of India`s first transgender police officer, Prithika Yashini.
