Visvadeep Concludes the Celebration of the Year of Faith

Visvadeep, the Institute of Faith Education and Youth Ministry, in Bangalore, celebrated the Year of Faith in a fitting manner. Year of Faith was concluded in Visavdeep on 23 November 2013.

The Year of Faith was inaugurated in Visvadeep on 11 October 2012 with a well prepared talk given by the late Fr. Paul Puthanangady basing on Motu Proprio Porta fidei of Pope Benedict XVI. The community celebrated the Year of Faith through the following faith building activities: 1. Daily prayer for the Year of Faith 2. Lectio divina on every Thursday at 7.45 pm in community groups 3. Monthly recollections on the dimensions/theme of faith 4. Sharing reflections on faith by the women religious during evening prayer 5. In the weekly Holy Hour on Friday included the theme of faith/faith journeys in the Bible 6. Forming a team and conducting faith sessions for various groups, especially the youth, outside Visvadeep. 7. Private Eucharistic adoration daily from 6.00 am to 6.30 am. 8. Screening of Biblical movies once a month preferably on holidays. Concluding ceremonies of the Year of Faith was held in Visavdeep on 23 November 2013. First there was the screening of a Video, ``Faith Test in Orissa,`` which speaks about the faith of Catholics in Orissa during the persecution in 2008. It was followed by a Solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. T.C. George, the Rector. After the Holy Eucharist all the members renewed the baptismal promises.
