DBCLM, Davangere leaves deep impressions on the Extraordinary Visitor

Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, who made the extraordinary Canonical Visitation of Don Bosco Child Labour Mission (DBCLM), Davangere on 1st and 2nd September, 2013, was highly impressed by the achievements made by this unique institution during its seventeen years of existence. He is currently making the extraordinary canonical visitation of the communities of the central and north Karnataka in the Salesian Province of Bangalore.
Fr. Maria Arokiam in fact wrote in his visitation report, ``...I am happy to have visited this highly significant Salesian work in favour of the young at risk. It has developmental, preventive and curative strategies and programmes. It works in collaboration with the public agencies and the likeminded NGOs. It has institutional care and also community based activities. It has been a large success and has caught the public eye and admiration, thus bearing witness to the love of God. I congratulate Fr. Kuriakose Puthenpurayil, the pioneer and the founder-director, other Salesians and all the staff for the immense good that is being done for God`s last and least children, both boys and girls...`` The DBCLM stands for creating a child labour free society wherein every child is assured of its right to education and development. The interventions of DBCLM are spread across the four Taluks of the Davangere district. During the past 15 years it has rescued and rehabilitated 1833 children. Of these 174 are pursuing their college studies and about 104 are already employed after having completed their higher studies.
