Don Bosco Palluruthy welcomes Relic Casket

The Casket of Don Bosco was taken to Don Bosco Palluruthy, St. Sebastian`s Church Thoppumpady and Santa Cruz Basilica on 5th October.
Don Bosco (Palluruthy), one of the earliest Salesian centres in India for the young at risk, received the relic of St John Bosco on 5 October at 08.00 p.m. The casket was first venerated at Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan. Hundreds of people including political leaders and social activists assembled to venerate the relic. Hymns sung throughout helped to make the moments prayerful. The relic was at Don Bosco, Palluruthy after 10.00 p.m. Rt. Rev. Dr Joseph Kariyil, Bishop of Kochi, presided over the concelebrated Eucharist at 10.30 a.m. on 6 October. It was placed for veneration at Sebastian`s Church, Palluruthy from 2.00 to 5.45 p.m. In spite of the church being under construction, hundreds of people prayed at the casket. In the evening the relic was at Santa Cruz Basilica, Fort Kochi.
