St. John Bosco (1815-1888), an educator and a writer, popularly known as ‘Don Bosco’, dedicated his entire life for the welfare and progress of the youth, particularly the poor and the jobless youth. Following its founder’s footstep Don Bosco organisation globally has dedicated itself in the service of uplifting the underprivileged youth towards happiness, fulfilment, and a better life. To achieve this goal, a centre called Don Bosco Vazhikaatti, was initiated at Chennai in September 1997 in order to assist the youth in Career Guidance and Job Placement.
