DB FORUM FOR THE YOUNG AT RISK ( DB-YaR )

Don Bosco South Asia Forum for the Young at Risk (DBF-YaR) is a body for reflection, sharing and coordination among Salesians and their collaborators involved in the ministry with the Young at Risk.

Don Bosco FORUM FOR THE YOUNG AT RISK

Inspired by Don Bosco, the Saint of the Streets, the Salesians in India have clearly established themselves as pioneers and path-breakers in bringing new hope to children in difficult situations. Don Bosco National Forum for the Young at Risk (YaR) has its Salesian presence in 75 centres across 19 States and Union Territories reaching out to children on the street - trafficked, abused, abandoned, orphaned, child labourers, school dropouts, juvenile delinquents or children in conflict with the law, young substance abusers, children in war-torn areas, refugee children, children affected by dreaded diseases, and youngsters in other situations of risk in India/South Asia. Annually Don Bosco YaR centres reach out to over 2,00,000 (two lakh) children/youth across our region.

YaR is an organization for reflection, sharing and coordination among those in¬volved in the youth ministry for the Young at Risk in South Asia, to network with like¬ minded persons and organizations on be¬half of YaR, to influence policies related to the Young at Risk at the state, national and international levels. Don Bosco YaR centres provide quality education to thousands of or¬phans and poor children irrespective of their caste and creed, through the 354 street presences, twenty six 24x7 Childline Centres, 100 shelter homes, HIV/AIDS Prevention Centres, 117 children’s homes and youth hos¬tels. Don Bosco YaR partners also impart vocational skills to school dropouts and unemployed youth.
