SURABI is the NGO of the Salesian Province Chennai for educational, skilling and empowerment projects and programs, operating in 11 districts of Northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Founded in 1988, SURABI works to provide the infrastructural requirements for educational institutions, orphanages, technical institutions, agricultural institutions, hostels, youth centres, centres for vulnerable children and other establishments run by the Salesians in the Chennai Province.

It was started with the view to provide a centralized and professional back office support to the Salesian Province of Chennai. Various funding partners and local Salesian project holders use the services of SURABI in terms of project preparation, fundraising, project monitoring, and evaluation. The main function of the organization is to mobilize funds for all the 32 communities in the province and implement some programs directly and some through individual Salesian communities.

Wherever we engage, we closely work with marginalized communities, the excluded, the disadvantaged and setup quality educational and skill-building programs for them. Our target group will continue to be the most vulnerable.

Your contribution will go into projects located in Tamil Nadu and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands. Contributions are eligible for Income Tax benefit under section 80 G.Tax exemption is valid only in India.

SURABI Trust was registered in 2003 (Registration: 113/2003).

It has FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) 80G.
