The Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI) located at K.Pudur, in Madurai city corporation limits was established in September 1987. It had a humble beginning with two non-formal trades namely Welding and Wire Man. In the initial years it experienced a very slow rate of progress and it took ten years for it to equip itself sufficiently in order to be accorded recognition by the central Government in 1997. Since then it has grown into an institution offering two year formal courses with NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING (NCVT) certificate in Six trades (A/C Mechanic and Refrigeration,Fitter,Electronics,Electrical,Motor Mechanic vehicle (MMV) and Wireman.
