Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Wokha
The present Don Bosco Higher Secondary School was originally started at Golaghat in February 1958. There were only 17 Lotha students initially. There was a long-felt need to shift the school to the Lotha area itself. In 1964 the present site was bought. In April 1965 the first batch of 27 Lotha students from Golaghat came up to Wokha to start the present Don Bosco School.
In the beginning Lotha language was the medium of instruction in the Primary section and admission was restricted only to the boys. In 1965 English medium was introduced in all sections and girls were also given admission. Official recognition was granted in 1972 by the Director of Education, No Ed/Dev/-IV 3/72, dated 15 November 1972. It became a high school in 1980 and higher secondary school in 2000.
