Don Bosco Vidyalaya, Savedi, Ahmednagar is a Marathi medium school catering to the needs of the poor and low middle class section of the society. Catering to the needs of the locality and serving those who are most in need of basic education has made Don Bosco Vidyalaya a sought after school for quality education over the last 25 years. The Vidyalaya celebrated the Silver Jubilee of her existence and service in the field of education in the year 2015 – 16.
All round development of the students has been the hallmark of our institution. With just the humble beginning by the pioneer Rev. Fr. William Falcao and later on by Fr. Thomas D’Costa dreamt of having a full pledged Marathi medium School for the needs of the locality and toiled towards making their dream come true. With all the initial hardships, hurdles and challenges from the political and the educational department they never ever gave up. Today the institution stands erect because of their struggles, sacrifices and for their dedicated service.
The school is government recognized and has the approval for almost the entire staff. The Vidyalaya receives grant from the government. The teaching and the non teaching staff of the Primary and the Secondary section receive their salaries from the government. Junior college and few additional staff are paid by the management. Th efforts are on to receive grant for the junior college staff.
The school boasts of having minority status and the minority certificate. We have 08 teachers in the Primary, 17 teachers in the Secondary, 09 teachers in the Junior College and 06 office staff members. We have 242 students in the Primary, 574 in the Secondary and 200 students in the Junior college section. The total strength of the school is 1019 ( One Thousand Nineteen only ).
Our teachers are well qualified and take keen interest in their respective subjects. Apart from the academics the school encourages all the students to take part in the additional exams in various subjects conducted by the government and by the private NGO. Value based education is imparted to all the students. Great emphasis is laid on Moral education and the religion classes in the institution. Extra Curricular activities that include sports, dramatics and stage performances bring out the best in our students. House System is followed in the school and the School Cabinet sees to the proper functioning of the same. Most of our students are members of the various clubs of the institution. The school runs Eco club, Sports club, Scouts and Guides, Science Club, Cultural club and Liturgy club. Preventive System is followed very systematically in the school. Child Protection Policy, Admission, Discipline and Canteen policy are well framed by the institution and all adhere to them. The vision, mission and the goal of the institution is kept alive.
We thank all our teaching and non teaching staff for their whole hearted support in the smooth functioning of our educational purpose. We are grateful to the parents and all our benefactors for their cooperation and support. We thank all our students for their love for the institution. We also express our sincere gratitude to the management and to the province for being with us encouraging and guiding us to follow the right path. The province and the management have stood by the institution and it is only because of their trust and support we are able to achieve great things.
Let the spirit and the charism of our father and founder St. John Bosco continue to lead and inspire every stakeholder of the institution. Let Mary our Mother and Jesus our Master continue to bless our institution.
