The Rector Major Father Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consensus of the General Council, has appointed Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga as the Provincial of the ViceProvince Maria Sede della Sapienza of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS). The General Council in its work session currently has also appointed Father Horacio Barbieri as the Provincial of the Blessed Artemide Zatti Province of Northern Argentina (ARN).

The week-long NSS youth extravaganza of the National Tribal Youth Exchange Fest that brought together 500 young people from all across India concluded on 08 March 2020 with the valedictory function at the Don Bosco Institute. The Chief Guest was Smt. Pallavi Kachari, Collector-Guwahati Municipal Corporation, while the Guests of Honour were: Prof. Alak Buragohain, Chairperson-Royal Global University, Angshuman Prasad Das, State Director-NYKS, Abhijit Sharma, Director- Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Brig. R.K. Singh, Deputy Director General-NCC Shillong, Dr (Father) P. D. John, Executive Director-Don Bosco Institute and Mr. Dipak Kumar, Regional Director-NSS Guwahati.

The XXVIII General Chapter (GC28) of the Society of St. Francis deSales on ``What kind/type of Salesians for the young people of today?`` has begun today Sunday 16 February, with the inaugural Eucharist at 18:30 (UTC +1) in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians-Turin, broadcast live on the ANS Facebook page and on the website sdb.org, and will end on Saturday 04 April, with over 240 Capitulars, at the Salesians of Don Bosco Mother House in Turin-Valdocco.

Bishop Emeritus of Aurangabad, Bishop Edwin Colaco was the ordaining minister at a solemn liturgical ceremony in the presence of over 75 priests, religious, brothers and nuns.

The Mumbai Salesians Provincial Community Day commemorating St. Francis Xavier, the Patron of the Province was held in the Don Bosco Kapadvanj Campus in Kheda District of Gujarat on 03 December 2019. Salesians from across the Province, numbering 62 in all, gathered around the Provincial and his team in camaraderie to celebrate the zeal and fidelity of the Salesians past and present with the theme ``We are because He is.``

Don Bosco High School, Matunga was placed second both in the city of Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra in the Boys School category. The glittering award function was held at Maharashtra Educator`s summit at the Lalit, Mumbai on 14th September 2019. The school was represented by Father Bernard Fernandes SDB, Principal of Don Bosco High School at this summit and awards ceremony.
