Silver Jubilee Bells Ring at Snehalaya
It’s a ding-a-ling for The Home of Love, Snehalaya, as it celebrates the Silver Jubilee Year. On January 6, celebrating the Annual Day of Snehalaya marked the beginning of its Silver Jubilee year. The day began with a Solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Januarius S Sangma, Provincial of Guwahati, who coincidentally celebrated his Silver Jubilee of Ordination.
Father Sangma urged the children to use their God-given time and talents. He encouraged them to embrace the opportunities and facilities provided in their lives.
Following the meaningful Eucharistic celebration, the gathering had an opportunity to interact and celebrate the day with cheerfulness during the festive meal. Children and guests, including members of the Salesian congregation, representatives from civil society, government officials, friends and benefactors gathered for the event.
In the afternoon, the performances showcased talents from different Homes of the Snehalaya, including its outreach programme known as Child-Friendly Guwahati (CFG). The event served as a platform to felicitate and express sincere gratitude to all those who have supported the mission to care for the children in the childcare institute. Salesians of Guwahati Province, representatives from civil society, government officials, friends and benefactors were honoured and thanked for their continuous support.
The Annual Day celebrations were a moment of thanksgiving and a reminder of the commitment to the well-being and development of the children under care. As the Silver Jubilee year of Snehalaya commences, the Province is grateful to Almighty God for leading thus far and for all the support received, and look forward to continuing the mission of providing a nurturing environment and opportunities for the children to grow and flourish and become good and responsible citizens of the country.
