Celebrating intellectual milestones at Don Bosco Seminary, Aluva

Don Bosco Seminary, Aluva, Kerala, radiated an air of solemnity and joy as it hosted the graduation ceremony on March 22, to honour the achievements of 12 young Salesian students (9 from INK and 3 from INN), who successfully completed their two-year philosophy studies. The ceremony commenced with a prayer song and lighting of the lamp, acknowledging the guidance of divine wisdom throughout the academic journey.

Fr. Dilip Gnanaprakash SDB, the Principal warmly welcomed the esteemed guests, faculty members and the graduating class of philosophy students. In his welcome speech, he commended the graduates for their dedication, perseverance, and intellectual growth during their time at the seminary.

Fr. Shalbin Paul SDB, the Vice-Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province, Bangalore, delivered an inspiring keynote address. With eloquence and depth, he illuminated the importance of education as a greatest weapon of change. He exhorted the students to continue to grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Following the keynote address, Fr. Nazarius Lakra SDB, the Vice-Provincial of St. Francis de Sales Province, Dimapur, released the digital version of the annual seminary magazine titled HOKHMA. The term Hokhma (חָכְמָה) in Hebrew signifies Wisdom. The magazine serves as a testament to the scholarly pursuits and artistic talents nurtured within the seminary.

The highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates to the graduates symbolizing their academic achievement and readiness to embark on the next phase of their journey towards priesthood.

Fr. Joy Kaipan SDB, the Rector of the seminary, bestowed the Academic Proficiency Award upon two graduates namely, Nithun Varghese and Joseph Xavier who secured distinction, recognizing their exemplary academic performance and dedication to their studies.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sam Sladder, one of the graduating students. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire graduating class, he thanked the faculty and staff for their guidance and support throughout their Post-novitiate formation.
