Prafulta Convocation Ceremony for ABE Teachers held in Mumbai

The Convocation Ceremony for 42 Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE-Archdiocese of Bombay) Teachers, trained in `Basic Skills in Counselling` conducted from June-November 2019, by Mumbai Salesians` Prafulta-Centre for Psychogical Wellness, was held on 19 January 2020, at St. Andrew`s College Bandra. Prafulta has been conducting this course for the past 14 years.

Yercaud Novices of 1973-74 Reunite at Don Bosco Lonavla

Salesian Novices from Yercaud of the Class of 1973 -1974 were a numerous 63 young dreamy-eyed boys filled with a steely-resolve to follow Christ the Don Bosco way, under the genial mentorship of Father Rosario Krishnaraj SDB of revered memory, with 52 eventually making their 1st profession. This jolly band of young men having matured like fine wine over the years, meet up once in 03 years.

Bishop Emeritus of Aurangabad, Bishop Edwin Colaco was the ordaining minister at a solemn liturgical ceremony in the presence of over 75 priests, religious, brothers and nuns.

The Sacerdotal Ordination of four of its alumni, in the Don Bosco High School Matunga quadrangle, was an occasion to jubilate, sing aloud and express gratitude to Him who calls, sustains, preserves and fortifies. Deacons Bosco Carvalho, Jerome Aruldass, Clarence Martis, and Mavron Fernandes who have dedicated their lives to God, the Don Bosco way, were ordained `priests forever` on December 21, 2019.

NHRC Chairperson Justice H.L. Dattu presents Commission`s short film awards on Human Rights Day to Father Ernest Rosario, SDB for his film ``Transcender``

Mr. Justice H. L. Dattu, Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission of India presented awards to the winners of the Commission`s 2019- short film competition on human rights at a function on Human Rights Day on the 10th December, 2019. The awards were given to Mr. Vishal Kumbhar for his film `Kumbhil Shiva`` which depicts the plight of a child rape victim and her family in getting justice., Father Ernest Rosario SDB for his film ``Transcender`` which focuses on Prithika Yashini, India`s first transgender police officer and Mr. Vijeendra Syam for his film ``Gulp`` which focuses on the onslaught of development resulting in loss of natural habitat through the story of an old man. The winners were given Rs 1 lakh, 75 thousand and 50 thousand as the first, second and the third prize respectively along with certificates and trophies.
