Seven New Shepherds for Tiruchy Province

In a joyous ceremony held on December 29 at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, seven deacons were ordained as priests for the Salesian Province of Tiruchy. Most Rev. Dr Antony Pappusamy, the Archbishop of Madurai, presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration and conferred the ordination.

In his homily, Bp. Antony urged the newly ordained priests to be faithful ministers of the Gospel, committed to serving the Church and the people, especially the young.

The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of Salesian priests, brothers, sisters, family members of the newly ordained priests and well-wishers from across the state. The atmosphere was filled with solemnity and celebration as the deacons received the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

The arrival of seven new priests marks a significant moment for the Tiruchy Province, injecting fresh energy and enthusiasm into its mission. As they embark on their sacred journeys, the newly ordained priests carry with them the hopes and prayers of a community they will serve with unwavering devotion and love.
