UNICEF WASH Head Visits Radio Salesian to Bolster Community Health Outreach
Mr. Sujoy Majumdar, Head of the UNICEF Rural WASH Project and former Director of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Swachh Bharat Mission), New Delhi, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sonia Majumdar, visited Radio Salesian 90.8 FM on June 9. Radio Salesian Director Fr. C.M. Paul, Programme Director RJ Sameer Chettri, and the RJ team welcomed them with traditional Gorkha topis and khadas.
During their visit, discussions centred on the ongoing WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Project and the vital role of community radio in promoting public awareness. The interaction highlighted the importance of collaboration between media and public health initiatives to achieve a broader reach and impact.
Radio Salesian, based at Salesian College Sonada, has been actively engaging with the local community since its inception in 2016, making it a key partner in disseminating vital public health messages.
