St. Xavier's School Emerges as Champions in the Eastern Zonal Level Inter-School Band Competition
St. Xavier's School (a Don Bosco Institution) team emerged as the champions in the Brass Band Boys' Category of the Eastern Zonal Level Inter-School Band Competition held in Guwahati on 22nd December. The competition showcased exceptional talent and skill, with St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, lifting the Champion's Trophy in the Brass Band Boys' Category, competing with 10 teams across the Eastern region of India, representing states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura, and Odisha.
St. Xavier's School's team of 29 young boys represented the state of Tripura in the competition. The team delivered a spellbinding performance to mesmerize the audience. They played 12 different musical pieces, demonstrating a combination of technical mastery, synchronization, and creativity. A three-member jury panel of experts from the BSF, Army, and Navy evaluated the performances. The judging criteria included synchronization, patriotic songs, slow march, uniformity, dress code, and adherence to the stipulated time.
The team's victory was a testament to their hard work, discipline, and dedication. St. Xavier's team's success is attributed to the collective efforts of the students, their mentors, and the school administration.
