The Meeting of the Catechetical Coordinators of the Provinces of India, was held on the 7th to 9th of October, 2007. The meeting was envisaged to be a moment of update, evaluation and planning. All the three were done in a beautiful manner under the animation of Fr. Jayapalan, the SPCSA Coordinator. It was held at Deepagam, the Catechetical Centre of the Province of Chennai. The first evening was a moment of introduction of confreres to each other and we began with our sharing regarding the experiences back in the individual provinces. On the second day, we had Rev. Fr. MAriaselvam from the Arch-diocese of Pondicherry-Cuddalore, presenting to us the Lineamenta - the preparatory document for the forth coming synod of bishops on the ``Word of God in the life and mission of the Church. it was an excellent work done by Fr. MAriaselvam as he re-ignited the passion within us for Evangelisation. The other input session was by Fr. Jayapalan himself, on Biblical Catechesis. The rest of the time was spent in Evaluation of the initiatives of the individual provinces. We came out with a unanimous conviction that today we need to focus on Networking all our efforts in this dimension of Evangelisation and Catechesis by - sharing of resources(both material and personnel) and by collaborative ventures on behalf of the Church in India. The meeting ended on the 9th of October, with the following decisions made as resolutions - + To come out with a catalogue of Resources - Publications and Productions. + To come out with a directory of Resource persons qualified in this field, all over India. + To strengthen the network that has just begun in and through this meeting, which is held for the first time in the history of Salesian India, thanks to the efforts of the SPCSA and Fr. Jayapalan.
