Job Fair in Dimapur Connects Employers with Over 270 Job Seekers
A Job Fair held at the District Employment Office, Dimapur, on September 15, successfully connected recruiters with more than 270 job seekers, marking a significant step toward employment generation and inclusive opportunities in Nagaland.
The fair was jointly organized by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco Job Placement Network – Dimapur, NCSC for Differently Abled Dimapur, NSCS for SC/ST Kohima, District Employment Exchange Dimapur, and the Model Career Centre Dimapur.
Over 170 candidates registered online, while more than 100 walk-in participants attended the drive. Six recruiters took part in the event, including Apex Motors, Reliance Jio, SBI Life Insurance (Dimapur), Talent Acquaintance, Askyam Restaurant (Velachery), and Chilli Breeze. While most employers conducted in-person interviews, Askyam Restaurant and Chilli Breeze facilitated online sessions, enabling broader access for candidates.
More than 40 candidates were shortlisted for further recruitment processes across various companies. Organizers highlighted the fair’s inclusive approach, with differently abled candidates receiving opportunities for one-on-one interviews, which offered them exposure to professional recruitment practices and enhanced their employability.
The event was coordinated by Shri Abdu Saleem TK, Rehabilitation Officer, DGE, NCSC-DA Dimapur, and Mr. Sebi Chacko, Regional Coordinator, Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur.
Organizers expressed optimism that such initiatives would continue to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers while ensuring that marginalized groups are not left behind in building sustainable livelihoods.
