Don Bosco Technical School Shillong Marks World Youth Skills Day with Focus on Shared Future

Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, celebrated World Youth Skills Day 2026 on Wednesday with programmes highlighting the transformative role of technical and vocational education under the theme, "Skills for a Shared Future."

The celebration focused on the importance of equipping young people with practical skills for employment, innovation, and nation-building. To begin the programme, Br Sniawshngain Papang, Vice Principal, gave an introduction and presentation, setting the tone for the day's activities.
 
Building on this, Principal Fr Shiningstar Dkhar encouraged students to pursue excellence through skill, discipline, and lifelong learning. A melodious group song by students of the DB Tech Society added a cultural dimension to the event.
 
Another highlight of the celebration was an inspiring testimony by Mr John Paul, a participant in the National India Skills Competition. Sharing his personal journey, he urged students to strive for higher levels of competence and excellence in their respective trades.
 
The keynote address was delivered by Miss Rheodolcy on the day's theme, stressing that skill development is fundamental to building a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.
 
The celebration concluded with a quiz competition, poster competition, and exhibition, offering students opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and commitment to vocational excellence.
