Don Bosco Skill Development Centre Launches Tally Course to Empower Rural Youth
The Don Bosco Skill Development Centre, Parvathipuram, inaugurated a short-term Tally software course on November 4 in collaboration with the National Institute for Rural Empowerment and Development (NIRED), Rajam. The initiative aims to foster youth employment and empowerment by equipping participants with job-oriented skills that promote sustainable livelihoods.
The program focuses on providing practical training to young people, particularly those from marginalized and underserved communities, to enhance employability and open pathways for self-employment.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by dignitaries from the GMR Foundation, including Mr. Rajesh, Director; Mr. Rambabu, EDP Trainer; and Mr. Vijay, Tally Trainer, who highlighted the growing importance of industry-linked vocational education in bridging the skills gap.
Representing Don Bosco Parvathipuram, Fr. Anil, Director, along with Fr. Suman, Administrator, and Fr. Gupta, extended a warm welcome to the guests. They expressed gratitude for the collaboration with NIRED, emphasizing its role in building sustainable career opportunities for rural youth.
Around 30 students participated in the event, which featured motivational talks and insights into the value of discipline, continuous learning, and skill development. Speakers urged participants to seize the opportunities provided by Don Bosco and GMR to carve out meaningful professional futures.
The program concluded with an interactive session, during which students expressed their appreciation to the management and trainers for their guidance and encouragement.
Located in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Parvathipuram faces persistent socio-economic challenges and limited access to higher education. The Tally course initiative stands out as a beacon of hope — empowering local youth through skill-based education and paving the way for sustainable livelihoods.
