Don Bosco ITI Principals Explore Cutting-Edge Automation at FESTO Industrial Visit
In a move to strengthen technical education and align training with global industry standards, the principals and technical heads of Don Bosco Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) embarked on an industrial exposure visit to FESTO, a leading German multinational renowned for its innovation in automation and industrial training.
Organized by Don Bosco Tech, the visit aimed to explore potential collaborations that would enhance skill development across Don Bosco’s training centers. FESTO, widely recognized for its pioneering work in pneumatic and electropneumatic systems, mechatronics, and industrial automation, also houses FESTO Didactic—its dedicated learning division offering cutting-edge training systems and e-learning platforms.
Mr. Ramesh Rangappa of FESTO led the visiting delegation through the company’s core technological areas, providing detailed insights into its training methodologies and equipment. The principals had the opportunity to witness first-hand the practical application of automation technologies and advanced manufacturing systems, gaining valuable knowledge on how these tools can be leveraged in vocational education.
“This visit underscored the critical need to integrate real-time industry exposure into technical training,” said one of the participating principals. “FESTO’s blend of hands-on industrial tools with pedagogical design is a model for the future of skill-building.”
Don Bosco Tech expressed keen interest in forming a collaborative partnership with FESTO to introduce advanced technical modules within its existing skilling ecosystem. Such a partnership is expected to benefit thousands of underprivileged and marginalized youth by providing them with access to world-class training and enhancing their employability in a rapidly evolving job market.
