Chief District Officer visits Don Bosco Institute, Kathmandu
It was a surprise call from the Chief District Officer of Lalitpur District, Mr Rajnarayan Acharya, expressing his interest in the Don Bosco centre. As he visited the premise on April 3, he was gentle and showed no bearing of his position’s pride and laurels. He greeted us with the traditional Namaste.
He keenly listened to the briefing by Father Augusty Pulickal, the Rector on the person of Don Bosco, the Salesian Congregation and its mission in 134 countries, and the nine Don Bosco centres in Nepal, the first of which was started way back in 1992. He was all ears to gather information about the various courses run at the Don Bosco Institute as he listened to Bro Philip Xavier, the Director of the Institute. At the end of the tour through the labs and classrooms of the institute, accompanied by the Director and a host of Institute staff, he expressed his joy and satisfaction of having visited the institute. At the close of the visit, he thanked the Don Bosco Society, the Institute and its staff, and the FMA Sisters for the service rendered to the society and the country. As he left, he expressed the hope of visiting again when it is in full swing with its host of courses and activities.
