Bosco Milan 2025 Inspires Youth to Embrace Vision, Discipline, and Leadership

News reported by: Fr. Shilanand Kerketta sdb

Bosco Milan 2025, a dynamic youth convergence organized by the Salesian Province of New Delhi, brought together over 550 young people from twelve parishes across five states—Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh—at the Kuarmunda Shrine.

The inaugural ceremony combined prayer and festivity, featuring the Lighting of the Lamp, a prayer dance by the Kuarmunda youth, and a formal proclamation of the Word of God. The gathering’s highlight was the keynote address by Chief Guest Dr. Col. C.S. Rajan Ekka, whose message resonated deeply with the young audience.

Dr. Ekka affirmed that India’s future rests in the hands of its youth, calling them the strength of the nation and urging them to take responsibility for change and building a stronger, happier society. He emphasized that actual achievement comes only through discipline, sacrifice, and perseverance. Cautioning against destructive habits such as addiction and alcoholism, he instead encouraged practices that nurture holistic growth—daily prayer and reflection, reading to enrich the mind, seeking good company for moral guidance, and engaging in selfless service.

Underscoring the balance between tradition and progress, Dr. Ekka urged the youth to safeguard their tribal identity while integrating culture with modern technology. He emphasized the importance of understanding constitutional rights, stepping into leadership roles, and serving as channels of peace and joy in their communities.

In his practical counsel, he advised cultivating focus, discipline in lifestyle choices, and control over screen time, while also nurturing hobbies and prioritizing fitness. He concluded by inspiring the youth to live with vision, courage, and commitment—anchoring themselves in cultural heritage while embracing growth opportunities.

The event also featured vibrant cultural performances by the Kuarmunda and Bichna youth, adding colour and energy to the convergence.
