It was an awe inspiring site to see the teams from honoured and reputed institutions from all over India, arriving at the grounds of Don Bosco Gandhi Nagar for the inter-school level tournament. The games were scheduled for 3 days from 13th to 15th July. This event was organized by the staff of Don Bosco Gandhi Nagar, and through the initiative of the PET masters. The silver jubilee celebration of Fr. John Santhosam the Head Master of the School, also became a context for the holding of this mega event. The celebration started on 13th morning 10.30am with Chennai customs sports officer Mr. D. Thiyagarajan as the chief guest of the inauguration function. The campus was filled with over seven hundred and fifty students from all over the state. 32 teams from all over Tamil Nadu competed in Basketball, whereas 40 teams were registered for Badminton and 35 for Table Tennis. There were also teams from other states like Maharashtra, Goa and Kerala. On the final day, 15th July, G. V. Selvam, the Vice President of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, was present for the felicitation with other dignitaries like Mr. Appu, the President of Boxing Association Vellore. For the students the tournament was a great occasion for dreaming great dreams, capturing coveted laurels, and meeting new friends in love with sports. The PET masters did a very commendable job in organizing this mega event with passion and satisfaction.
