AIDA–Don Bosco Job Placement Network Drives Inclusive Hiring at Kohima Job Fair
The AIDA Don Bosco Job Placement Services in Dimapur, in collaboration with government agencies and employment partners, successfully hosted a Job Fair on November 21 at the Directorate of Employment (SDE), Regional Employment Exchange Office, Kohima. The event was organized jointly with the National Career Service Centre (NCSC) for SC/ST Kohima, NCSC for Differently Abled Dimapur, Regional Employment Exchange Kohima, and the Model Career Centre Kohima.
The fair aimed to provide a structured platform for young job seekers while promoting inclusive hiring. It engaged companies committed to recruiting candidates from SC/ST backgrounds, persons with disabilities, and aspiring youth from Kohima and neighbouring districts.
More than 100 candidates attended the event, representing diverse academic qualifications, technical trades from ITIs, and other skilled backgrounds. Participants actively networked with recruiters and took part in spot interviews arranged by participating companies.
Eight recruiters from key sectors, including BPO/ITES, hospitality, banking, automobiles, education, and manufacturing, offered over 200 job openings. These included vacancies from Apex Motor Enterprise Dimapur, Reliance Jio Dimapur, Tata Group (Pan India), Vivor Hotel Kohima, and SBI Life, catering to both entry-level and mid-level roles. Employers expressed appreciation for the candidates' preparedness and confidence, underscoring the importance of such collaborative employment efforts in Nagaland.
The event concluded with encouraging results. Over 80 candidates were shortlisted for subsequent interview rounds, while many participants gained direct exposure to industry expectations and hiring standards. Recruiters also indicated willingness to engage in future job fairs and targeted hiring programs.
The initiative marked another milestone in the AIDA–Don Bosco Job Placement Network's mission to bridge youth with meaningful employment opportunities. Organizers emphasized that the collective efforts of all partners contributed to the smooth execution and the program's impactful success, reinforcing the significance of partnership-driven employment initiatives in enhancing job access and career readiness for Nagaland's young workforce.
