510 Students Attend Orientation and Career Guidance Programme at Maram Higher Secondary School

Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Maram, Manipur, conducted a two-day Orientation-cum-Career Guidance Programme on July 16 and 17 for 510 newly admitted students from the Arts, Commerce and Science streams. The programme equipped them with life skills and career awareness as they begin their higher secondary education.
The programme was facilitated by a five-member resource team from Don Bosco Youth Empowerment Services (DBYES), Dimapur Province, in collaboration with the AIDA–Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), Dimapur. The initiative aimed to familiarise students with their new academic environment, support their personal development, and help them make informed career choices.
Over the two days, participants attended interactive sessions on Navigating the Maze, Youth Issues and Challenges, Young Leaders in the Making, Discovering Career Path, Building Self-Confidence, and Job-Hunting Skills. The sessions combined presentations, group activities, discussions, practical exercises and motivational inputs, encouraging students to reflect on their strengths, aspirations and responsibilities as they prepare for higher education and future employment.
Students participated actively in discussions, collaborative exercises and question-and-answer sessions, creating an energetic and engaging learning environment. Organisers said the programme broadened students' understanding of educational and career opportunities while fostering self-confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills and a positive attitude towards lifelong learning.
The programme concluded with a call for students to pursue their academic and professional goals with determination and purpose. School authorities expressed appreciation to the DBYES and AIDA-JPN resource team for guiding and motivating the new batch of higher secondary students, describing the initiative as an important step in preparing young people for future challenges and opportunities.
