MumbaiSalesians` Prafulta co-partnered with DARE (Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience), a groundbreaking somatic attachment training created by Diane Poole Heller and facilitated by Patricia Meadows MS, RN, RCST, SEP - somatic experiencing practitioner and a holistic trauma therapist with over 40 years` experience facilitating healing and transformation. Modules 01 and 02 of the 04-module training for psychotherapists, trauma therapists and somatic therapists was held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga-Mumbai from 28 January to 02 February 2020. Introduced in India for the 1st time by Prafulta, there were 23 participants, including 06 Assistants with Patricia Meadows, who hails from West Virginia-USA, and has trained and assisted extensively with Diane Poole Heller, the creator of DARe, before becoming a DARe faculty member.
The training provides an understanding of early childhood and adult attachment patterns, providing practical applications and strategies to effectively work with clients` attachment patterns to help them resolve early attachment wounding and shift toward more secure attachment in their current relationships. This training teaches essential skills to help clients develop stronger and more secure attachment patterns, resulting in more successful and happy adult relationships. The 04 Attachment Patterns - Secure, Avoidant, Ambivalent and Disorganized - were explained in detail. Through various assessment processes, participants could identify their own adaptive style; understand the link to early attachment patterns with primary caregivers; and become aware of mis-attunements in their implicit memory, learning corrective strategies to gradually bring themselves and their clients to secure attachment which in fact is our original blueprint.
Participants reported feeling more aligned with themselves, and having a greater capacity for compassion toward themselves and the people they relate with. They went away with a greater awareness and understanding of their own patterns and hope to mend severed relationships.
This is the 3rd International Certified Training facilitated by Prafulta. Prafulta has also brought in two other international trainings viz. Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) and Choice Theory and Reality Therapy (CTRT). True to its Mission, Prafulta continuously endeavours to enhance the growth of mental health practitioners, by bringing to India the latest in the field of psychology.
