Rector Major celebrates with Children at BOSCO, Bangalore

The Rector Major, Father Angel Fernandez Artime, celebrated children`s day at BOSCO (Bangalore Oniyavara Seva Coota), Bangalore attended by nearly 500 youngsters. Theme based cultural programmes by children enthralled the gathering. Children and stakeholders who have played key roles in the protection and promotion of child rights at the centers and areas of BOSCO were awarded with Prathibha Puraskara and Makkala Mitra Award respectively.
BOSCO, an NGO working with the underprivileged children and youth, organized Children`s Day celebration at BOSCO Mane, Chamarajpet, Bangalore, on November 7, 2017. Children`s Day celebration at BOSCO was based on the theme, `Save Earth - Save Children`.
Suresh Heblikar, Film Maker, Director, Actor, Kannada Film Industry and Environmentalist spoke on the theme `Save Earth - Save Children`. He gave message on environmental conservation through activities to create an eco-conscious culture which will help protect and improve existing ecological and environmental conditions in both urban and rural areas.
Father Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bangalore, in his introductory words said that the need of the hour is to protect children through conservation of earth. Earlier in the day, a Kannada educational, science documentary on big bang theory, origin of solar system and life on earth - `Bhoomi Huttiddu Hege` was screened, followed by a quiz competition for the children.
