God our Father,
with the mysterious whisper of your Spirit
call forth new leaders from among the young
to be the presence of Christ, your Son,
in the service of poor and abandoned youth.
Open their hearts to the attractiveness of your call.
Let them contemplate your face in their peers who
left unaccompanied and forgotten,
become easy prey to the corruption of the world.
Teach them to follow the way of prayer,
to nourish themselves with your Word,
to participate in the Eucharistic banquet,
to celebrate with penitent joy your gift of reconciliation,
to be aware of the urgent needs of today,
and to mature in wisdom and in grace.
Inspire them to make their life a self-gift to others.
Grant them the courage to leave everything
to find their treasure in you.
On their journey of life, support and surround them with Salesian mentors
to help them to grow in youthful holiness.
