The second batch of trainees at the Don Bosco Tech Rangajan Center, consisting of 25 youngsters hailing from Manipur, Nagaland and Assam, specializing in the Food and Beverage Service Associate job, completed their training on January 19. Originating from conflict-ridden areas like Kangpokpi and Imphal, many of these participants had previously confronted homelessness and family loss and struggled with substance abuse. With the able leadership of Brother Sunny Joseph, the Director of DB Tech Rangajan, and a dedicated batch of staff, these youth found hope through the free training initiative.

Youngsters across South Asia came together at the VOICES event, a platform that amplifies their voices on pressing social and personal issues. Throughout the event, the participants shared personal stories and insights, shedding light on the challenges of migration, unemployment, digital addiction and substance addiction affecting the youth.

A workshop was organized for the delegates of the Youth Ministry in the Vice Province of Sri Lanka, focusing on creating a culture of vocation and introducing Career Guidance and Job Placement Services. Father Gabriel Karunaraj, Director of Don Bosco Job Placement Network, animated the workshop. The workshop gave a comprehensive briefing on career counselling, employability skill training, and job placement assistance.

International Women's Day was celebrated on March 6, 2023, at Don Bosco Youth Village Susaipudayanpatti, Tiruchy. Eight hundred Self-Help Group members of 57 groups covering 24 villages participated in the celebration. Ramon Magsaysay award winner Mr Kulandai Francis, Founder-President, IVDP Krishnagiri, presided over the function and addressed the gathering on the importance of Self-Help Groups and the opportunities for improving the per capita income of the family through SHGs.

With unemployment among the educated youth on a steady rise, the Apprenticeship Mela (Job Fair) conducted by Don Bosco Technical Institute, Park Circus, on February 13, 2023, at the request of the Directorate of Industrial Training, Government of West Bengal, was an opportunity for almost 300 participants.

Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Ranchi, initiated labour market information among the youth searching for jobs and organized six placement drives with job opportunities for more than four hundred youth.

Don Bosco Ranchi aims at decent jobs with safer and secure migration. Youth who are skilled, semi-skilled and un-skilled were provided job opportunities under various job profiles.

Out of the total job opportunities provided through Don Bosco Job Placement Network 42% women have entered the labour market  with formal jobs, adequate wages, safer and secure working conditions.

Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Kolkata, hosted its first Job Fair here at Nitika Don Bosco, Tangra. More than 160 youth registered for the event. Seven companies, namely Quess Corp, Samuel Fitze Company Pvt. Ltd, NIIT- ICICI Bank, Lifestyle International Pvt., Okay Call Centre, Teamlease and Employment Provider, recruited youth.

As a response to the widespread unemployment among the educated youth especially in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, the Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society (BREADS) through the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN) Bangalore, collaborated with Don Bosco institutions in Karnataka and Kerala to organize job fairs.

The Eco Team of Don Bosco Green Alliance (DBGA) in South Asia met on November 9, 2021, to share the various eco practices initiated in their respective Provinces. The team comprised of the Green Animators and Province representatives for DBGA from the region. They discussed the possible ways of effective communication and coordination among the members and the DBGA central team for a convincing impact on the environment.
