VANAMAHOTSAVA (Planting trees to Preserve Nature)

``The Trees are the God`s great alphabet: With them He writes in shining green across the world His thoughts serene.`` Lenora Speyer
The Programme Vanamahotsava was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Sunny at Don Bosco College Of Education, Yadagiri on the 6th of July 2011. In His Inaugural talk, Fr. Sunny shared with the group how modern people are exploiting nature with their immoral activities and stressed the need of preserving trees. About 85 Students along with the staff participated in the mega event which is the first of its kind in the Center. Later in the afternoon, Fr. Saji joined the programme conveying the message``better late than Never.`` About 50 Neem and Ashoka sapplings were planted in the campus. It was not merely a magnificent show of Planting the Trees but students assuming responsibility to take care of them in the future. It was indeed a splendid day with the staff and the students working together for the cause of Preserving nature. A sense of Contentment and Joy was reflected on the faces of the students as the programme concluded at the end of the event.
