After a break due to COVID-19, Coordinators and Delegates of Salesian co-operators of the Province of Bangalore gathered at Don Bosco Vaduthala, Kochi, on July 9, 2022, to assess the identity and roles of Co-operators in the past three years and take forward to the future with renewed vitality and clarity. Mr CJ Joseph, the province coordinator, planned the day with Father Gilbert Choondal SDB, the Province Delegate. Around 35 people from local centres, coordinators, SDB & FMA delegates and Province Council members from Kerala and Karnataka participated in the meeting.

“Revisiting the identity and roles of Co-operators was a necessity at this moment of the time to revitalize centres and bring some common policies. This is to revamp our lives as Salesians with one mission as a Salesian Family,” said Father Gilbert in his keynote on “Revisiting Identity and Roles of Salesian Co-operators.” Mr Antuvan, the world councillor, focused on the governance of the Salesian co-operators in local centres and at the provincial council level. The most important part of the day was a sharing by each local centre member regarding the present and past status of the centres. With the coming elections at the local and provincial council, a renewed identity and roles will be the focus, along with some plans for training delegates and coordinators. Aspirants and young recruits will be encouraged in the coming months, with a specific formation planned.
